Undergraduate

  • You're a high school graduate, or will be soon (traditional BSN program for first-year entry)
  • You're a transfer student from another major or another college or university (BSN program for transfer students)
  • You’re a registered nurse (RN) with an associates degree or diploma and would like to advance your career or professional commitment to nursing (RN-to-BSN program)

Admissions Deadlines

Most nursing degree programs have specific admission application deadlines. You are welcome to submit the online application before the dates listed below. The undergraduate and Clinical Nurse Leader admissions committees start reviewing files after the set deadlines. The other graduate programs operate on a rolling admissions basis.

Open Houses & Information Sessions

Thank you for your interest in the School of Nursing.  We host general information sessions about the undergraduate and graduate programs throughout the year. These sessions provide information on the school's academic programs, admissions requirements, and financial aid along with break-out sessions with faculty and students. A tour of the nursing school is also conducted. These information sessions are held in the School of Nursing buildings (McLeod Hall or the Claude Moore Nursing Education Building) - click here for parking information and directions.

Please RSVP to nur-osa@virginia.edu or call 1-888-283-8703 with the date you plan to attend and your academic program of interest (BSN, MSN, post-MSN, PhD, or DNP).

Note that parking is free after 5:00pm in McLeod Hall garage.

Admissions Room Chatroom

The Assistant Deans for Student Services hosts two sessions in the Admissions & Student Services chatroom each week. Pop in and learn more about the undergraduate or graduate programs, the admissions requirements, financial aid, career prospects, or anything that is on your mind. These sessions are held at:
