For Kristin Garrett, a recent graduate of the School of Nursing, the key to learning is experience. After completing her fourth year at U.Va., Garrett returned to the Limpopo Province in rural South Africa, where she had spent the previous summer learning about health care as a participant in Nursing Students Without Borders (NSWB) (learn more).

Linda Bullock
The Jeanette Lancaster Alumni Professor in Nursing
In August 2010, Linda Bullock joined the U.Va. faculty as the first Jeanette Lancaster Alumni Professor in Nursing. Alumni and friends funded the chair to honor the former dean of the nursing school, who stepped down in 2008 after 19 years. (learn more).
