Master's of Science in Nursing and Post-Master's Programs in Nursing

Health care is becoming increasingly complex, and the necessity for highly educated nurses to coordinate and deliver better nursing care has never been greater. Graduate nursing education can be generalist-based (like the Clinical Nurse Leader) or specialty-based to prepare nurses for advanced practice or other specialty roles.

Many of UVa’s graduate nursing programs are ranked in the Top 10 in the nation. These programs draw upon the academic excellence of the University of Virginia, the clinical strengths of the UVa Medical Center (a 580-bed Level I Trauma Center, a Top-100 Hospital seven years in a row, and Magnet facility), and the University’s commitment to serve the needs of citizens of Virginia and the world.

The School of Nursing boasts a legacy of leadership – our graduates play leading roles in health care facilities and communities across the world. Come join us in Charlottesville for a first-class education at a world-renowned University.
