Team Wellbeing Day on August 7 was a chance for colleagues across UVA Health to connect and recharge.

UVA Health team members gathered August 7 for the annual Team Wellbeing Day at University Hospital, taking time to focus on personal wellness while connecting with colleagues from across the organization, including University Medical Center, Community Health, the School of Medicine, and the School of Nursing.

Throughout the day, participants explored resource tables, enjoyed refreshments, entered prize drawings, and took part in a variety of drop-in activities designed to support physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. Offerings included mindfulness meditation, chair yoga, Zumba, sound baths, healthy cooking demonstrations, a mindful conflict workshop, and a session on the restorative power of humming.

Therapy dogs, live music, and the chance to build a custom flower bouquet added to the festive atmosphere. Attendees also wrote gratitude cards and decorated a banner, creating a colorful expression of community and wellbeing.

The event also highlighted Wellbeing Spark Spaces, informal groups that brought colleagues together around shared interests and experiences, including wellness book clubs, walking groups, yoga in scrubs, support groups, family playdates, and other opportunities to build community while prioritizing self-care.

Team Wellbeing Day is an event employees look forward to each year because the celebration creates space to pause, connect with colleagues, and prioritize self-care.
