In collaboration with the School of Nursing and the School of Continuing and Professional Studies, the UVA Health System provides an educational evidence-based curriculum for new RNs emphasizing patient outcomes, leadership and engagement by supporting the transition from student nurse to professional nurse.

Program Highlights
The UHC/AACN Nursing Residency ProgramTM (NRP) is a 1-year residency curriculum created by nursing experts from the country’s top academic medical centers and nursing schools to support new graduate RNs as they transition from student to professional RN. Emphasis is on developing critical thinking skills through reflection and interaction with colleagues.
