Valencia First - Nursing Applications Sought

A semester-long education abroad experience for first-year School of Nursing students accepted to the BSN program entering in fall 2025, Valencia First - Nursing gives admitted incoming first-year BSN students a unique opportunity to begin their UVA career in Spain.

Deadline for admitted first-year BSN students to apply to Valencia First for entry in fall 2025

Valencia First - Nursing students will take their required first-semester nursing courses along with one Spanish language course during the semester-long education abroad experience. There will also be opportunities for site visits to local hospitals and clinics, a speakers series featuring local medical experts, and a language partner program with local nursing students.  

The small group of Valencia First - Nursing students will be part of a larger group of students from a variety of UVA programs choosing to spend a semester in Valencia.

Throughout the semester, students will take part in regular virtual meetings with Cathy Campbell, associate professor and the School's Global Initiatives director.
