Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to some frequently asked questions about Nursing Continuing Education such as how to get a copy of your transcript and how to claim credit for a class. You can also find information about our cancellation and refund policy as well as instructions for requesting accommodation for disabilities.
Q: What is your cancellation and refund policy?
A: A full refund, less a $50 administrative fee, will be issued for all cancellations received a minimum of 14 days prior to the activity date. No refunds will be granted for registration fees of less than $50 or for cancellations made within 13 days of the activity.
The University of Virginia School of Nursing Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel CE activities if necessary. In this case, the entire registration fee will be refunded. All other expenses incurred in conjunction with the CE activity are the sole responsibility of the participant.
Q: What is your accommodation request policy?

The University of Virginia School of Nursing Continuing Education is pleased to assist participants with accommodation requests. Please email your requests to sonce@virginia.edu at least 30 days prior to the conference date. Some of the conference venues used by the University of Virginia are registered historic properties and may not be fully ADA accessible. Please feel free to contact the facility if you have specific questions.
Q: How do I claim credit for participating in an educational activity?
A: Our process for course evaluation and claiming credit is online. After the course:
- Navigate to Continuing Medical Education.
- Click on the “Learning Portal” button and then select “Sign In” at the top of the screen or in the menu bar. If you are a new user, follow the instructions to log in and set up your password.
- Sign in. Pop-ups must be enabled for this site.
- If you pre-registered for the course:
- Select “My Courses”.
- Next to the name of the course, select “Claim Credit”.
- If the course did not require registration and, instead, provided participants with an activity code:
- Select “CE Certificate – Eval for Credit”
- Enter the Activity Code, then click Submit and then click Continue.
- Complete the evaluation and click “Done”.
- The Certificate Preparation should open. Indicate the number of credits you wish to claim for attending this activity. Click “Submit”.
- Click “Print Certificate” or you can do so later by returning to the Learning Portal. Sign in and click “Credit History & Past Certificate”.
Q: How do I obtain my transcript?
A: A Transcript is your official document of the credits that you have been awarded over a period of time. To obtain a copy of your transcript:
- Navigate to Continuing Medical Education.
- Click on the “Learning Portal” button and then select “Sign In” at the top of the screen or in the menu bar. If you are a new user, follow the instructions to log in and set up your password.
- Sign in. Pop-ups must be enabled for this site.
- Click “CE Transcript”, and add the date range for which you need documentation of your credits.
