Major (Retired) Aaron Matthews served 25-year as a nurse in the US Army. His Army nursing career included assignments to Womack Army Medical Center at Fort Bragg NC, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda MD, The 28th Combat Support Hospital in Afghanistan, and Tipler Army Medical Center in Hawaii. Since his retirement from the US Army in July of 2023, he continues with work in rural health systems and with service members. He is currently the Associate Chief of Nursing Services – Mental Health at Alexandria Louisiana VA Health Care Systems. He continues to work with Queens Medical Center in Honolulu Hawaii to develop a prehospital telestroke program.

Through participation in this session, learners will:
- Discuss medications used in the treatment of opioid use disorder (MOUD)
- Describe current requirements for the DATA-X waiver program
- Articulate training requirements associated with the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023
