Tuition, Financial Aid, and Scholarships
- UVA is one of just a few national universities that covers 100 percent of undergraduate students’ demonstrated need and limits their school loan debt
- Students’ demonstrated need is determined through applicants’ completion of the FAFSA (for undergraduate and graduate students) and CSS (undergraduates students only) profiles
- Students who have demonstrated financial need are considered for the School’s more than 80 endowed scholarships; students are internally matched with these scholarships; no separate application is required
- Admitted, currently enrolled students may also apply for additional funding opportunities to fund their research projects, presentations, and education abroad program
- For international students who are not U.S. citizens, UVA and the School of Nursing do not have funds available for scholarships or loans. As a result, international applicants applying to the School's undergraduate and graduate programs (BSN, RN to BSN, CNL, RN to CNL, MSN, post-master's, and DNP) must be prepared to finance the entire cost of out-of-state tuition and all associated costs of living. In order to earn an F-1 Visa, international students must demonstrate that they have the financial means (through institutional support or personal funds) to finance their education, living expenses, and one year of health insurance. The exception is for international applicants to the School's PhD program, who may earn funding if admitted.
