A nursing student and child

Meet Sandy.

Former rugby player, marathon runner, and special education teacher. Mom to one human baby and four dog babies, and a first-year Clinical Nurse Leader master's student whose parachute once malfunctioned during a skydive (she's fine!).
A native of Taiwan who plans to, after graduation, become a nurse anesthetist and a nursing faculty member to "share our love of teaching and learning." One of the School's four Graduate Student Ambassadors.
Before arriving at UVA, Ting earned a PhD in education curriculum, culture, and change. Just before beginning the CNL program, she traveled with her whole family to Taiwan during the Qing Ming festival.

What the CNL program is like

"It's every bit as enriching and dynamic as it appears. The unique nature of this path emerges from day one, and it is truly a group of individuals who make up each cohort."

UVA School of Nursing in a word?

"EVOLVING. One of the most critical components that make up any practice that seeks to support people and stimulate impactful change embraces the evolutionary nature of its work. The School upholds the value of stretching in order to grow, and it remains an honor to take part in this movement."
The deadline to apply to our top-ranked CNL program is October 1. To learn more about the program, connect with Sandy and admissions team, join us for an upcoming Zoom info session Sept. 10, Oct. 8, or Nov. 12.
