#MeetUsMonday - Meet BSN Student Sophie Polk
MEET SOPHIE.
Spin-class loving BSN student, sim center assistant, Nursing Student Council social chair, and Chi Omega sorority member who grew up in Ashburn, VA. Loves making hot cocoa runs and exploring the Charlottesville food scene where she’s still on the hunt for the best Thai food (drop your recommendations in the comments!). An EMT, two-time half-marathon runner, and avid traveler. Asserts there is “Nothing better than being a Hoo” and calls UVA School of Nursing her “home away from home.” Future pediatric nurse.
WHY NURSING?
“It’s the perfect mix of problem-solving, hands-on care, and building connections with people. Every day is different, and I love that I’ll always be learning and growing. Plus, there are so many opportunities to explore different specialties and career paths. At its core, nursing is really about being there for people when they need it most, and that’s something I find really meaningful."
