Lance Poston, PhD

Biography

Lance E. Poston, PhD, serves as chief of staff at the School of Nursing. In this capacity, he supports the dean and overall strategic operations in the School. Before his current role, Poston served as assistant vice president for external relations and operations in the University of Kentucky’s Office for Student Success, where he oversaw communications, philanthropy, facilities, and general administration for a division of 28 student-facing units.

During the pandemic, Kentucky tapped Poston to become acting director of UK Health Corps, the primary on-campus pandemic response unit. He also has experience leading multiple inclusion-focused teams in UK’s Office for Institutional Diversity.

Poston earned a PhD and MA in history from Ohio University and a BA in history and English from Presbyterian College.
