Photograph Collections

Historical photographs comprise an important part of the Bjoring Center’s holdings. Presently, the largest collections are photographs of University of Virginia nursing students from 1903 to the present, which make up the School's and the Nursing Alumni Association's Collections. Nursing students’ classroom and clinical experiences, social life, and educational rites of passage are depicted in images that capture the many changes and continuing traditions of 20th century nursing education.
